I'm U.J. Whitehill, and I would call myself a polymath if it didn't sound so pretentious. I have been working as a software engineer for over a decade now, which is probably the longest I've ever stuck with anything. I like trying new things and then sometimes (mostly?) dropping them. This piece explains it better than I ever could.

These days, I'm drawn to photography (black and white, mostly). I try to write about things when I can. Most of my reading is science fiction, fantasy, and comics. Watching TV shows with my wife is a family affair, so we do a lot of that.

We love to travel, and when time allows, I prefer to stay in new places for extended amounts of time, and to just get into a local routine there. Eating and drinking is a big part of that. I have found a love of wine in recent years, and there are few things that make me happier than a good dinner with well paired wines.

I am a two-time immigrant, and I am currently based in Porto, Portugal.
